Whose Life is it Anyway?

This show ran February 19 and 20 at The Wood Theater in Glens Falls and represented the largest production to date for us. With a cast of 13 and a full, two-story set, it was our most ambitious project. Glens Falls Hospital was most generous by loaning props and equipment and providing information on legal and ethical issues which relate to this play. Written in 1979 by author Brian Clark for British television, we needed to become aware of the current American stand on the end-of-life and right-to-die debates within the medical and legal professions.

The hospital was instrumental in helping us get the word out about the show. The Hospital Guild served refreshments during intermission.

A talk-back session wasoffered to interested audience members after both performances with the cast and representatives from legal and medical professionals.

Original theme music for the show was created by Daniel Anderson, friend and former student of Director, Neil Akins.

Visit the Whose Life is it Anyway? page on this site for more details about the show and cast and production personnel.

Last of the Mohicans

Neil has been asked to serve on the Board of Directors for The Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama and he has accepted. Follow the link embedded here to their website. More details of his involvement will be forthcoming. This just happened today (11/23/09)! This is an exciting new adventure and outreach for Neil and Wrightstage Productions.

Sherry Recinella

Sherry designed and built Barbara Miner's Belle of Amherst dress and is creating Neil's Mark Twain suit. Click here for a recent Post*Star article about her work in the area.
Glens Fall Community Theatre

Wrightstage Productions provided real time video imaging for backstage personnel for Blithe Spirit which GFCT produced   at The Wood Theater in
Glens Falls. This allows stage management a view of the stage from audience POV as well as providing cast members in the green room a way of tracking the progress of the show.

The Wood Theater

Neil Akins, Wrightstage's founder and producer, was appointed to the Board of Directors of The Wood Theater in June. Starting in January he will co-chair the Events Committee which schedules and plans fund raising activities for the not-for-profit theater. Wrightstage also provides technical and other (envelope stuffing) help as well and is currently working on streamlining the organization's data base. We continued our sponsorship of the annual Rising Stars at the Wood on May 8. This is a major fund raiser for the theatre. Below is a photo of the cast in their final dress rehearsal. We provided technical assistance and underwrote the plaques each of the 12 area high school students received.

Lake George Dinner Theatre
Wrightstage Productions will continue to partner with Terry Rabine at The Holiday Inn Turf Resort for their upcoming season of Our Son's Wedding at The Lake George Dinner Theatre. Wrightstage will be providing technical and management services for the season which runs from June 30 to October 14.
